Who we are

Secure-Cloud is a sole IT & cloud consultancy operating in the North West of England. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Secure-Cloud is the "data controller" for the personal data described in this notice.

If you have any questions about this notice or about how your information is handled, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

What information we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to enquiries and to deliver our services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — your name, business name, email address and phone number, when you fill in the enquiry form, email us, or call.
  • Enquiry details — anything you tell us about your situation, your current IT setup, and what you're trying to achieve.
  • Client & project information — where you engage us, the technical and account details needed to carry out the work (for example system configurations, licence details and the handover documentation we produce).
  • Website usage data — basic, non-identifying information about how this site is used (see the Cookies section).

How and why we use it

We use your personal data to:

  • respond to your enquiry and arrange an initial conversation;
  • prepare proposals and quotes;
  • deliver, support and document the services you've engaged us for;
  • send service-related communications, such as scheduling and handover documents;
  • keep proper business records and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We will not use your details for unrelated marketing, and we will not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Our lawful basis for using your data

Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Consent — when you contact us voluntarily through the form, email or phone.
  • Contract — where processing is necessary to provide the services you've engaged us to deliver.
  • Legal obligation — for example retaining invoices and records for tax purposes.
  • Legitimate interests — running and securing the business, provided this is not overridden by your rights.

Sharing your data

We keep the circle small. Your information may be shared only with:

  • trusted service providers that help us operate (for example email, cloud storage and accounting software), acting on our instructions;
  • a vetted second pair of hands brought in for larger on-site jobs — and only where necessary, with you informed in advance;
  • authorities or advisers where we are legally required to do so.

Where providers process data outside the UK, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection is in place.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Client and financial records are kept for as long as required by law (typically six years for tax and accounting records). When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your data where there's no good reason to keep it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch. We'll respond within one month.

Cookies

This website is intentionally lightweight. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no third-party marketing trackers embedded in the pages.

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may involve a request to Google's servers when the page loads. If we later add analytics or any non-essential cookies, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first via a cookie banner.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect your ability to use this site.

How we protect your data

Security is the business, so we practise what we recommend: reputable cloud providers, multi-factor authentication, access kept to what's necessary, and devices kept patched and encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the information you share with us.

Contact & complaints

If you have a question, want to exercise your rights, or wish to make a complaint about how we handle your data, please contact us:
